The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is filled with super-villains, something that the fans are already concerned of: Electro, Rhino, Harry Osborn, and even hints of the Black Cat are going to be featured in Marc Webb’s sequel. However, a game always needs to raise the ante and include even more bosses, so that the game players don’t lose interest: enter Kraven, one of the original Sinister Six.
The story will be built on the previous Spider-Man game, which was so-and-so for some fans. It will also put to good use the free-roaming mechanism, as well as other gimmicks used in the first movie’s adaptation. Furthermore, the game will also feature the new “Hero or Menace” system, through which the web slinger is awarded if the criminals or captured, or has to suffer consequences if he fails in his pursuits.
Also, a greater interest will be put on Spider-man’s alter-ego, Peter Parker, who will have to make a double investigation concerning those hidden behind his father’s death, as well as those who are manipulating the villains in Manhattan.
Kraven is Sergei Kravinoff, and the trailer doesn’t shy away from presenting him right in the middle of things. However, the editing makes the clip a little too ambiguous, since a question mark may appear as to whom he wishes to train. Given his history in the comic books, he may actually wish to train Spider-Man before becoming the ultimate villain of the game.
However, Kraven the Hunter may be talking to the other super-villain, who is only hinted during the entire trailer and who only makes a brief appearance in the end – Electro. Nonetheless, it wouldn’t be such a big surprise if another super-villain pops-up somewhere in the game, The Shocker, given his many appearances in the Daily Bugle news.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release right after the movie slings into theaters, and it will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS and PC.
